The Green Current (그린 커런트) project is an urban infrastructure regeneration proposal that transforms a massive, elevated urban highway—long a source of noise pollution and physical neighborhood division—into a continuous, vibrant linear park and acoustic sanctuary. At the core of the design is an integrated overpass ribbon: a patterned, light-reflective acoustic ceiling panel system featuring hydrological wave graphics installed along the highway's undercroft to absorb traffic noise and reflect natural ambient sunlight onto the park below. Functioning as a contextual community bridge, the park adapts its programming across six distinct zones tailored to adjacent district characteristics—including a Meditation Forest (사색숲) for quiet reflection, an Eco Park (생태공원) with restored wetland habitats, a family-focused Community Park (커뮤니티공원) with mist fountains and splash pads, a Central Park (센트럴공원) civic plaza, a Healing Park (힐링공원) with restorative boardwalks, and an active youth Urban Park (도시공원) featuring sports courts. This multi-layered ecosystem is interconnected by elevated Eco Bridges for wildlife migration, a grade-separated multimodal mobility network with dedicated bike paths and accessible pedestrian trails, and seamless underpasses and footbridges that link surrounding retail, mixed-use complexes, and transit hubs directly into a unified community anchor.
